When is mediation appropriate for dispute resolution?
Mediation is appropriate for most commercial, contract, employment and domestic disputes whereby:
• All the parties are willing to come to the mediation in good faith and that they genuinely want to resolve the dispute.
• All the parties can see the potential value, both financial and emotional, of resolving the dispute either prior to a lengthy and expensive court process being commenced, or letting the dispute fester unresolved.
• When ongoing relationships with the disputing party are not important the value of the dispute is worth the cost involved of a mediation. For disputes up to $15,000 you are better off going to the Disputes Tribunal. back |
